This Group promises to be one of the most entertaining groups of all. Even though one might say that none of them are elite clubs, they have a chance of qualifying. This is because all these teams are evenly matches. Besiktas, Leipzig, Porto and Monaco all are quite evenly matches. There are no favorites in this group. Besiktas currently sit atop the Turkish League but if Galatasaray were to win their match this weekend then Besiktas would drop to 2nd. They are still unbeaten in their 4 games played uptil now and have players like Pepe, Gokhan Tore, Ozyakup, Negredo and Quaresma who will be vital to their chances of progressing from the group stage.

What can Leipzig manage to pull off this year?

Leipzig are slowly trying to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with and almost gave Bayern a run for their money through the first half of the season. They currently sit 4th in the Bundesliga, above Bayern on Goal Difference. They have some pretty handy players like Naby Keita, Emile Fosberg and Timo Werner, all young prospects for the future.

Can Monaco cope without these players? And this does not even include Mbappe!

AS Monaco, they have seen some key cogs in their title winning side taken from them for big money. But that does not mean that they haven’t invested well. They have bought players like Jovetic, Tielemans, etc. who will help them build around the players they have now. Last year, they were an exciting team of youngsters who were one step away from the finals. This year, they have lost players like Mbappe, Bakayoko, Mendy and Silva who were important cogs in that team. They currently sit 2nd in the league after losing 4-0 to Nice.

Will Porto ever reach the top of European football again?

FC Porto are probably the most well known team of the lot. After all they won the CL in 2004 under the guidance of a certain ‘special one’. They currently sit on top of the Portuguese league, having won 5 out of their first 5 matches. Over the years they have seen a lot of their top players move on but they still have some handy players like the legendary Iker Casillas, Alex Telles, Yanice Brahimi and Vincent Aboubakar who will have to step up if Porto are to progress.

All in all, a very exciting group in which all teams can qualify. Time will tell who goes through and who falls through.
